preFIX is a pre-mixing and audio alignment tool which typically takes place upfront the mixing process. It provides a clever tool set to clean-up, fix and align audio tracks (typically taken from recordings) concerning overall frequency correction, phase alignment, spatial stereo field corrections and routing. It contains a complete gate/expander solution with a dedicated and comprehensive sidechain filtering path as well.
Features:
- Main audio path filter
- Baxandall style shelving filter with pristine audio quality
- Smooth butterworth high- and lowpass filter with switchable characteristics (12 and 24dB per octave)
- Both are oversampled and match their analog model curve behavior
- Sidechain path EQ and filter
- Whole spectrum “tilt style” balancing filter with adjustable center frequency
- Smooth butterworth high- and lowpass filter with switchable characteristics (12 and 24dB per octave)
- A dedicated parametric peaking EQ
- Internal/external sidechain switchable
- Sidechain listening option
- Gate/Expander
- Adjustable threshold between -80 and +6dBFS
- Freely adjustable knee from hard- to soft-knee behaviour up to 1:2 downward expander mode
- Range limiting option (floor)
- Channel link switchable
- Envelope follower section with attack, hold and release control
- Attack timing features console style peak timings as well as two rms modes
- Additional gate pre-open timing option
- Phase alignment
- Analog style stepless signal phase corrections
- Detailed options for adopting phase response curve regarding polarity, frequency center and width
- Additional digital signal delay option
- Phase control switchable to channel 1, 2 or both
- Advanced control
- Detailed output channel routing with six different modes
- Stereo image rotation option visually supported by a goniometer
- Output level control with special mono mode to mix in channel 1 and 2

Anybody care to share any “before and after” examples using preFIX?
x86?
Looking forward to trying out preFIX. What do you think about Slate Digital VCC and similar approaches? Any chance you could do something like this for your next project?

Use both like i am 🙂
Hell yes! Looking forward this one as well,
no mixed without some of your plugins in here
thank you for your work!
D
Thumbs UP!!!! Looking forward!
What about VST3 or x64?
You always make such good plugins.
Looking forward for this release.
Cpu-is a concern for me though 🙂
Interesting to see a lot of your research is comming together in this plug. Can’t wait to try it
I use FerricTDS in every rock track during mastering and love it! Very curious for this new plugin.
@ Geir: use your DAW’s freeze functions if you have them. I use Sonar Producer 8.5 and a project with 13 stereo tracks at 16bit ,44100 Hz and about 35 plugins active, consumes between 70 and 80 % on my old 3GHz pentium IV HT. After freezing all my tracks, my cpu shows no more than 2% playing the same 13 tracks. Give it a try.
Thanks bootsie for your amazing work!
Wow… looking forward to this! 🙂
This is going to be awesome!
Amongst all the goodies, I am very excited about the phase alignment part of the plug. If I understand correctly ‘Detailed options for adopting phase response curve regarding polarity, frequency center and width’ will act like a phase-vs-freq equalizer similar to a usual magnitude-vs-freq equalizer; amazing!! Will there be a frequency dependant cross-correlation analyser to help find the right phase correction to be applied?
We look forward to this new release Herbert!
Many thanks,
Thomas
I’m -very- excited about this. I can’t wait for it’s release!
Exited? Yes!
I think this plugin needs the compressor section for full happiness 🙂
It’s just suggest 🙂 How do you think?
Of course. And a coffee machine would be great too.
Coffee machine?) Are you could to do this? Oh, stop. I don’t like coffee. Only tea
Ok, I understood) It means no
Anyway, plugin is great)
Forget what I just said about this working with Adobe Audition. I forgot to enable it in the VST Manager.
prefix is great ..but i thing it could be near perfect if a duck option would be added to the gate section…so i hope ..thanks again for theses wonderful plugs !
where’s the download link??
